Chapter 3 and 4

David begins to have bad dreams about his father murdering her since she has 12 toes.Which makes him realize the danger that she would bring to his life as well. Uncle Axel sees David communicating telepathically with Rosalind and asks him about it. Uncle Axel promises to keep it a secret.

Chapter 5 and 6

Sophie and her parents are forced to move because Alan sees Sophie's footprint and the realizes she is a mutant because she has 6 toes on each foot! David later confesses to uncle Axel and trusts him enough to tell him that there are more telepathic people than just him and Rosalind!

Chapter 7 and 8

In this chapter everyone finds out that David's mother is pregnant and gives birth to Petra. David is getting nervous because he is afraid of getting slaughtered because he is a mutant so he prays to good to make him normal. God doesn't make him normal.

Chapter 9 and 10

In chapter 9 petra falls into the water and uses her telecommunication to ask for help. David and Rosalind race there to help her, they find her unconscious but she is still ok. Anne announces that she is going to marry Alan. Uncle axel despises of this marriage and suggests that the kill Anne. But no one else had the same feelings as him about the marriage. I found these 2 chapters very intense!

Chapter 11 and 12

In this chapter, Petra's pony is attacked by an animal while they were riding in the woods.  She sends out a distress signal and the others are forced to rescue her. Lots of people are realizing that David and Rosalind are in a relationship, so lots of people are questioning that. Sally and Katherine are captured by the Norms. Petra, Rosalind and David are on the run. Petra begins to communicate with the Zealand woman. David realizes the place he dreamed about in his childhood does exist, because there are people already living there. I am glad that they found other people to comunicate to that care.

Chapter 13 and 14

In this Chapter, Petra continues to communicate with the Zealand woman. The Zealand woman is sending help for Petra. David, Rosalind and Petra are captured by the Fringe people. David meets the leader of the Fringe people, the Spiderman a.k.a Gordon Strorm, his uncle. I find it very interesting that the Zealand are helping these 'strangers'.  

Chapter 15,16 and 17

David gets the realization that the girl that he loved, Sophie, has fallen in love with 'spider-man' . Sophie later on helps David and takes him back to the fringe community where he then stays at her house/cave. In chapter 16 the Zealanders kill everyone and everything in the Fringes! David, Petra and Rosaline survive then later get taken to Sealand by helicopter. I really enjoyed this story.

Chapter 1 and 2

In my opinion the charachters in the story The Chrysalids are very...different. The main charachters name is David and david is in love with a girl named Sophie! Sophie is not considered a human, because she has 6 toes on each foot! David is not supposed to tell anyone about this because no one is supposed to know or else Sophie would be treated differently because she isnt really a human! In my opinion David will commit suicide or run away ,when his father finds out that his girlfriend is not a human!
